Meet the Staff

Brent Malcolm

Brent Malcolm is a passionate educator with a particular interest in STEM education. Having held a number of positions at Newcastle Grammar and Ormiston College, he now brings his vast experience to St Hilda’s School. He graduated the University of New England in 1999 and is currently completing his Masters of Educational Leadership at the Queensland University of Technology.


Brent believes collaboration and critical thinking are essential skills as we prepare students for the future and enjoys weaving 21st Century Learning skills into his classroom. He currently coordinates the Years 4-6 Robotics Club and is running a STEAM project that looks at the history of cryptography and challenges students to investigate a range of historical ciphers.


Brent is looking forward to working towards his Apple accreditation and finding new and creative ways to utilise digital technologies in the classroom to enhance student learning.
